I was an average individual starting my journey as a sales rep in large pharmaceutical organization back in 2000 and continued to build my career thereon through several meetings which actually destroyed my health not only with the corporate politics involving stress but also boozing after every Corporate and team meetings. From 2001 to 2010 this predictable way of living continued and i became fat and out of shape until i realized the heaviness around my belly which made my life so difficult that i started hating myself and won’t even look at the mirror.

That’s me in the blue stripe shirt and denim enjoying the party!

One day i was invited to go to Brisbane Australia in 2011 for a team meeting and there my life changed completely looking at all those people around running and cycling focussing on their health and me sitting in a room and looking at them but the way forward was to break the routine and get back into shape.

I then registered myself in a half marathon back in India and started running to loose some of the waist inches and looking pretty in front of the mirror getting appreciated by colleagues and friends as to why this change which i believed was personal to me and sometimes even been criticized as to why am i doing this when life is easy with kids on a cozy and comfy couch but there i was getting better and better by Gyming 7 days a week without a break buying new apparels and throwing aways the old ones.

What did i learn : First step get into shape so that you look good in your outfit and impress your colleagues and friends.

Chapter two: My fitness journey went on with work till 2015 until i saw the Movie ‘Everest’ and i was so much intrigued that i wanted to go to Everest base camp and experience the mighty himalayas. This was the project i undertook in 2016 by trekking extensively in the Himalayas and nearby mountains until 2017 when i arrived at Everest base camp 5345 meters above sea level which changed my life completely once again , I was into a different dimension but was weak and fragile due to the continued impact of excercise on my body and health which possibly was due to lack of structured training but ‘ Hey i was at Everest base camp’ !

Chapter three: So now what ? Having left my high flying corporate job in 2017 , I started exploring the Himalayas by going to Everest base camp once again in 2018 but with a different challenge trekking Kala pattar 5550 meters along with Chola pass 5600 meters and Gokyo Ri in Nepal . I also summitted Stok Kangri 6150 meters in Ladakh and Mentok Kangri 6250 meters again Ladakh with some really challenging conditions. These summits would not have been possible without a structured training programs laid by my coach Dr Mihir Patki who is a sports physician and orthopaedic surgeon based in Mumbai. I realized that not every excercise is training and not every training is an excercise. I graduated from a regular Gymmer to an organized mountain athlete. I even turned Vegan.

My Journey into Fitness continued in 2019 where i again trekked couple of times in Winters and summer with a near 6000 meter peak in Ladakh named Matho Kangri

My fitness journey continued until September 2020 when i contracted Covid-19 and broke my ribs four places and recovered very well in just four months possibly due to my fitness routines in the past .I train and train everyday with a goal to climb big mountains and eventually take control of my life.

First trek in the Ladakh Himalayas after recovering from Covid-19 and Ribs fracture

Shortly i would be working on a series of endeavours and programs to encourage people specifically in a 9–5 job and making them to think whether a predictable life is better or adventure through the lens of nature.

Happy living !!!
